A panchang is the Hindu almanac listing the five limbs of the day — tithi, vara, nakshatra, yoga and karana — from which auspicious times, vrats and muhurats are determined.
What should be avoided during Rahu Kaal?
Tradition avoids starting new ventures, journeys and auspicious ceremonies during Rahu Kaal. It shifts daily, being one-eighth of the sunrise-to-sunset span determined by the weekday.
